Frequently Asked Questions

What are your qualifications?

I have a Post Graduate qualification in Teaching and a specific  qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language, Business English and Pronunciaiton. I also have a masters in Creative Writing and a masters in Psychology.

How do you customize lessons for each student?

I personalize lessons by finding out what you can already do, what you want to learn and why. I then tailor the lessons and homework to your goals and interests. We will use a mix of materials and methods, including real texts, video and audio. I also encourage students to bring real-life situations to the class for us to practice, for example job interviews or specific conversations or texts.

Will I need to do Homework?

Yes! it is always a good idea to practice between sessions. How much you do depends on your time and motivation. Homework can be as simple as listening to a podcast or audio for 5 minutes, recording and practising new vocabulary. It can also include more specific skills such as writing or exam preparation tasks. It entirely depends on your goals and interests.
